X-Out Hunger, Backpack Cuisine (Xenia Schools backpack program)
Programs is beginning with Arrowwood School, pre-school-5th grade. This nationwide government program provides enough food for 150 kids in Xenia but the need is food for 300 kids. Food is stored at the old McKinley School. Middle School & High School students are embarrassed to take it. The committee is promoting financial sponsorship for $25/month or $200/year for a child. This provides the child food for weekends - many do not have food on weekends. It will be tax deductible. 139 backpacks were given out 11/7. 60% of students in the 5 elementary schools receive free or reduced priced meals. Churches can get a display “kit” from Marlene E. to help in spreading the word. For more information, visit the City of Xenia website at: www.ci.xenia.oh.us and look under News and Announcements.

Living Well Clinic
Open Tuesday nights 5-9pm with people beginning to line up at 3:30pm.Presently, we try and see 16 return (chronic) and 2 new (acute) patients per night. Please pray for us about how we to handle the growing number of patients and their needs. Diana Jones works with various volunteers and is handling a client caseload of 250. Many people have to be turned away for lack of appointment times.

FUTURE: We will be adding the following programs and could use your help if you are available:
1. Prescription Assistance care- from 1-2 days per week for 2-4 hours per day. Volunteer would interact with patient and help them get set up for prescription assistance.
2. Grant/Fund Raising-core of volunteers that would like to make this their mission for LWC. Volunteer would need a passion for this and experience also handy. More primary care professional volunteers are needed!

Interfaith Hospitality Network in Xenia
Serving families who are homeless, (single parents and their children, or Mom and Dad with their children). CAP is the clearinghouse for IHN. We do look at police reports very carefully. Clients can now stay up to 90-days with reviews 3 times each week to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing: looking for jobs, looking for housing (either through private resources of their own or Greene Met) and taking classes we set up for them (i.e. budgeting, parenting, nutrition, and others). We will help them in any way we can to get back into self-sufficient housing. We can only take a maximum of 24 people at one time (12 bedrooms).

The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greene County is now seeking new churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, and faith-based groups to help provide meals and hosting at the Schneider House of Hope in Xenia. The Schneider House of Hope is a homeless shelter that serves any Greene County family with young children.

Open since 1995, Interfaith Hospitality Network serves families with small children, and over 50% of their clients each year are under the age of 7. The Schneider House of Hope provides temporary shelter and a number of other services as guests seek stable housing. The work that area churches do at the Schneider House of Hope is critical to fulfilling the mission of the organization, as they provide dinners and overnight hosting at the house.

This is a wonderful opportunity for any faith-based group in to do local missions work right here in Greene County. If you or your group would like more information on how you can become involved with IHN, call  (937) 372-0705  for more information.
